Elise Rechichi

Elise Rechichi is Australia’s Young Ambassador at the Youth Olympic Games. Twenty-four year-old Elise won a gold medal in sailing (470 class) at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Elise is one of 30 Ambassadors selected world wide to promote the Games, specifically the Culture and Education program and to encourage team members to participate in the activities.

Jessica Mauboy

Jessica MauboyJessica Mauboy is one of five international artists chosen to sing the theme song at the Opening Ceremony of the Games, which will be held on 14 August 2010 at The Float@Marina Bay.

Jessica Mauboy is Australia’s favourite female star! She is an indigenous singer, songwriter and magnificent performer, who brings a fresh sound to the world of pop music. Jess has worked her way to the top of Australian pop music, with her album BEEN WAITING reaching DOUBLE PLATINUM SALES! Jess has just returned from LA where she met with top writers and producers for her 2nd album, set for release in 2010.

Andrew Gaze, Michele Timms, Andrew Smith and Daniel Trenton

Andrew Gaze and Michele Timms have been named as Athlete Role Models and will be on hand to witness the YOG 3on3 tournaments for young men and women, which will involve a total of 40 teams from 38 different countries, including an Australian women’s team. They will go up against the very best youngsters in various skills contests testing players’ shooting range and accuracy as well as ball-handling.

Beijing Olympian Andrew Smith will be on hand to inspire athletes in the hockey tournament and dual Olympian Daniel Trenton will impart all his Taekwondo experience on the up and coming stars of the future.

Luke Dufficy

Luke Dufficy is one of 26 young journalists from five continents selected by the IOC to participate in the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Young Reporters Program. Luke will live in the Olympic Village alongside the athletes and receive specialised media training from senior sports journalists. The Young Reporters Program aims to encourage the sharing of stories around the world and give tomorrow's Olympic reporters the tools to tell them.
